The Majestic Cove is located on Lake Jackson in Sebring, Florida with Marina slots available to enjoy the water.
Lake Jackson covers 3412 acres and is considered the crown jewel of Sebring. The average depth is 11 feet and the maximum depth is approximately 26 feet. The waters are clear and the shores are sandy. Lake Jackson is ideal for supporting such recreational activities as fishing, swimming, boating, jet skiing, water skiing, wildlife viewing, and believe it or not, sea plane traffic. Veteran’s Beach is located on the northwest side of the lake. The park offers covered tables, grills, a children’s playground, boat ramps, and restrooms located on the east side of the lake behind the Sebring Library. If you are into long walks, jogs, or bicycle rides, try the 10-mile Lake Jackson Trail which circles the entire lake.
For a brief period, Lake Jackson was renamed Rex Beach Lake after the American Novelist and Playwright Rex Beach (1877 – 1949) who retired to Sebring in the 1940’s. Rex Beach was best known for his novels later turned movies; The Spoilers and The Silver Horde.
If you like to fish, the best times are 12:40 am to 2:40 am and 1:10pm to 3:10pm. If neither of those times will work for you try 6:43 am to 8:43 am. A fishing license is required; check with myfwc.com for more details. Folks have reported catching largemouth bass, black crappie, and bluegill.
